Dolgoch Falls

I had photographed these falls a few years before but I was staying fairly close and heavy rain was falling so decided to visit again to get images with raging water but found that the water leveks were just a little higher than normal. Doing my usual standing in the middle of the river trying to line up foreground waterflows with the main falls. Ken

I wear Wellingtons and have yet to get wet feet when photographing waterfalls. I also have waist high waders but am a little scared about wading that deep into a river. Ken

Indeed, better be prepared than having cold and wet feet and then have to walk home with damp or soaked shoes.
I share you anxiety about waders. What happens with a fall in the water?

You're supposed to have a waist belt on them which prevents most water to go in, at least not fast, giving you the possibility to recover.

Yes, that makes sense... I never used waders hence my "stupid" question.

As I am frequently in fast flowing streams getting in much above my knees would be asking for trouble. My other Welly wearing times are on the beach and waders could be very dangerous. I may buy knee length waterproof socks and water sandals and just get used to cold legs. Ken

Neoprene socks work quite well, especially the thicker ones.
