We recently purchased one loaded Macbook pro with the M2 Max chipset. We installed only fresh software on the Mac i.e. no migration at all from any other Mac. The only apps are Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign and Illustrator as well as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Power Point and finally Print Tool and Q-Image. The Mac is running Ventura 13.6.1. We have been unable to print successfully from that Mac to our Epson P9570 or P7570 from Photoshop or Print Tool or Q-Image - no RIPs. We print through our own custom ICC profiles. So, we select ColorSync in the driver. This is what happens when we print from Photoshop for example: We select a paper size, set Photoshop Manages Colour, then go into settings where ColorSync may be selected as one would expect; then, we complete all settings. Then, we return to all the settings to make sure everything was set properly only to find that ColorSync is no longer selected. Instead Epson Controls Color is selected and ColorSync is greyed out. All driver settings are now set as if we had selected Printer Controls Color from the get go. At this point, you can't get it to select ColorSync. The preset is damaged.
I spoke with Apple and got to one of their "higher ups" in tech support. He claimed the bug is with Epson. Epson, of course, claims it is another Apple anomaly and that they have not heard of anyone else with this problem. So, my question is: does anyone who prints from an M2 Max Mac running Ventura have this same issue when trying to print to Epson printers?
Thanks,
Mick
