Cranes
« on: November 04, 2023, 09:14:59 pm »

Lots of cranes stopping in my area these days, so I went for a quick ride and found several groups. They are ridiculously apprehensive though, I was 200-300 yards away and that was too close for their comfort. I suspect it's statistics at play, the larger the group the higher the chance of an overanxious one, and once one flies they all fly.

Lovely,   just wondering if the ones you saw were Whopping cranes.  I came across a few on St. Joseph Island, Ontario. They look similar to the couple  I saw.

This pair just watched us slowly move on,.. they stayed put,  we moved on.

Great shots. I'm not sure why but I love the last one a lot.
Well done.
