Topaz Photo AI 2.1.2: New object removal tool
« on: November 04, 2023, 01:48:15 pm »

Topaz Photo AI version 2.1.0 is a big release with the initial implementation of a new feature called "Remove Tool". This feature allows you to remove objects from photos by simply masking them out.

Samples show removal of an unwanted object from an earlier AI-generated image with 4X enlargement plus lighting and color adjustment.

Thanks Peano!

This particular photo was taken on a visit to Catalina Island back around 1990. Something went wonky with my Canon lens and the aperture was stuck open, it seems.

I was pleased to see that Photo AI maintained the bokeh effect in its restoration.

BTW, you've got a fun website!

Topaz is taking the week off of development updates for the holidays but has their Black Friday sale active instead!

Here's a facial recovery example I did today in Photo AI from a tiny section of a photo postcard dated 1910.

I was going to say "good eye!" kers but i think the alignment is good.

The restoration of the eyes makes them look longer, whereas in the original the ends fade into pixel mush.
