Praying Mantis
« on: October 08, 2023, 01:55:31 pm »

I was looking for birds and insects in an abandoned old stadium site complaining to myself that I had not seen many praying mantises this year, when poof, I came across a bunch of them hunting.  I like the perspective of this shot, so I'm posting it.  Comments welcomed.

indeed like the image a lot; and the colours remind me of futuristic films where these kind of animals are the aliens...

Composition is unusual and I like it a lot.
Bravo.

The tweaked image is vastly superior to the original, as it separates the mantid from the background and provides depth. Nicely done, Mark.

Thanks, Bob.  Yeah, I agree about the second image.  I get easily seduced when developing images.  After looking at this one a second time I realized an alternative path of development.
