Swap the base onto short legs, longer legs, mini legs or combinations thereof in either CF or Alu and tailor the tripod to the shoot/trip. The centre column gives you am extra <= 3.2" of height with a flip of knob.
Great for travel due to weight and fact you can remove the legs and pack the base and legs separately where they fit best. Used for a shoot on Fogo Island (Newfoundland) and you never knew it was in the bag.
