The Pt Reyes Fishing Boat 1 of a series.

I just reprocessed *  tiny jpeg copy of the original and still not pretty close to what I want.

*I have yet to migrate my Lightroom catalog and image files to my new machine

I like it.  The subject and tonality are very nice.  I would crop it to a more square format, eliminating most of the short grass on the bottom and some of the sky on top.

Oh yes, definitely yes! Nicely composed, processed and framed.

Square crop is the way to go for this well weathered boat.
Well done.

I agree about the cropping. But either way, a lovely photo.

Some genus kids set fire to the stern of the boat with some fireworks shenanigans a few years ago thus ending the boat's career as a great "subject" its now pretty ugly.

Thank to all.

I heard it was a photographer trying to do that burning steel wool on a string thing. Either way it's a real shame. Good thing you got this before that happened.

Having grown up a bike ride from Pt Reyes, I've seen many photos of this boat, but none so pleasing as this, Michael. Captures the spirit of the subject quite well.

Update: Upon looking at it again this morning, I would not take any more off the bottom, it's like the grass is a symbol for the sea, where the boat would rather be floating. Just my two cents.

you nailed the burning steel wool part...when I read about it  was  assuming that it was dim witted juvie..who had no idea how dried out and fragile the hull of that old beast is.

I may revisit it anyway.
