disappearing icc profiles

Apple studio  13.4.1, Photoshop 24.6, Canon 4100

After upgrading to 13.4.1 and the latest version of Photoshop, my icc profiles have disappeared from the Library.  None of the Canon profiles that are automatically installed at printer set-up are there and none of the profiles I've added are there.

I can download the non-Canon profiles from the web of course.  But I can't find the Canon profiles for download.

Advice or information, please.

Such profiles are usually installed with the driver (or separately) so you're going to have to go that route unless you have a backup from the older OS which you can try finding (often saved deep in a package).

Can you recover them from a Time Machine backup?

Andrew's advice is on point. The profiles are typically bundled with the printer drivers. Try re-installing the Canon 4100 drivers and see if that brings back the missing profiles.

Mike's suggestion about the Time Machine backup is also worth trying. If you have a recent backup before the upgrades, you may be able to restore the profiles from there.

Thanks, guys.   Weirdly, here's what fixed the problem:  I needed to do a firmware upgrade on the printer after the Mac OS upgrade and the Photoshop update. I'm not sure why that worked, but it did and all is well.

I've had this problem on my Epson and formerly Canon printers for some time - the ICC profiles provided with the printer driver(s) seem to disappear each time you update the MAC OS.  Re-installing the driver usually fixes it, but then you can end up with a proliferation of names for the printer and templates in Lightroom for printing refer to the old printer name and not the new one - so that's a pain too......

These embedded profiles do not seem to change very often - so a solution to reduce the problem is to locate them where they are buried on your system and simply copy them, using Finder, to the Profiles folder in your Library - and then reference them from there.  Update them periodically if they change.  Here's how to locate them on your Mac.

Open the Mac's ColorSync utility from the Utilities folder inside Applications.  Go to the Profiles tab (icon at top of window) and in the sidebar on the right you should see under >Other, a list of additional locations for drivers.  In the screenshot below, you can see Epson ones are under /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/ICCProfiles/EP2006NK1.profiles. Click on the > to twirl down and Open the list.  See the screenshot.....

That's the system Library on my Mac.   This is a 'package' so to review the individual file contents, within Finder, right click on "Ep2006NK1.profiles" and Show Package Contents...then navigate down to the Resources folder and you should see the individual ICC files for each paper.  Copy these (don't move them...) to your own Library folder, under your user account, ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/..." and they can join others you have there.  Re-start Lightroom and go back to the Print Module and you should be able to locate them when selecting an ICC profile under Color Management | Other.

This is for my Epson - my Canon printer is gone so perhaps another Member could verify the process for Canon.

I have my Library folder un-hidden on my Mac.....you may need to hold down the command key and use the Go menu in Finder to get to your Library folder....to get to ColorSync/Profiles/...

Depends on how the OS is 'installed'. With a clean install, they (and all others) will disappear.
Epson, maybe Canon (don't use) installs the profiles deep in a package for some odd reason instead of in the default locations.
Epson places the profiles in the path below, which ends up being deep inside a 'package' and difficult to get to:
/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/ICCProfiles/
IF you see a folder named ICCProfiles and open it, you'll see one or more items; the names will vary depending on the printer. You may have to try opening the following package to inspect the contents for the actual ICC profiles. Because this is a package, you need to use the contextual menu option (Control-Click) to Select "Show Package Contents," and you should see a list of all the ICC profiles inside that package. Copy or move them on your Mac to the folder where most of the other profiles reside: 
/Users/~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles
: restart it; they should now show up.
