Tired
« on: May 11, 2023, 09:10:09 am »

One of my favorite photography exercises is to use an online random word generator to determine the subject of the day’s photos. This time, the generator produced “tired”, not a nice and neat noun for goodness sake. Well, I think I nailed “tired” with these two photos, taken at the playground of the Hilton entrance to Patapsco State Park in Catonsville. I was going for an ‘industrial’ look to contrast the woodland setting, using black and white to accentuate the shine and treads of the tires.

Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

Weird place but you're right, the B&W processing makes them more industrial looking and  blends those tires with the greens of the trees and wooden playground elements. Also, the tired look a bit more metallic.
Well done!

Francois: Thank you, and, yes, I went for a shiny on those tires.
