I like this set a lot. Your experiment is really successful and I especially like the third photo (bw-4.jpg).

#3 and 4 for me. Both are strong.
1&2 are ok as part of a set, but not so strong individually for me.

All of these were handheld, and they turned out similar to the real thing.
