Pebbles and Ice (2 shots)
« on: April 07, 2023, 03:18:44 pm »

Out shooting in one of the higher Glens recently, looking for another 'Grand Landscape' type of shot and even though the snow had mostly gone (which was disappointing), there must have been a sharp frost during the night before and then I spotted how the edges of this small burn next to the road, had frozen over and around some of the pebbles. So instead of looking up at the peaks, I spent the next hour or so looking down and shooting the pebbles and ice, and here is the result.

Very enjoyable..!

The second image to my eye, looks a little like an old master type painting of a Victorian lady, in a dark dress with a high set hairstyle, sat at a writing desk.

Thanks everyone.

I checked back on here after a few days after posting these two shots and no one had commented, so I thought they were just going to slip off the end of the list and that no one particularly liked them. So it is nice to see they haven't been forgotten after all and you do approve - even got a Bravo from Francois, which is great ;D ;D.

So thanks again guys ;)

Well I haven't checked in here for a couple of weeks, but if I had seen these on the day they were posted I would certainly have commented. They are both appealing, but I really love the first one.

Thanks folks  ;)

Weird weather we seem to be having up here in the NW of Scotland at the moment, which isn't a complaint by the way, as it is really good for photography. From -4C with heavy snow and storm cloud overcast, then up to +20C and gin clear skies, then back down to -2C and stormy conditions again and all in a matter of a few days.

It would seem to me that, the weather seems to be fluctuating in a sort of rhythmical cycle or something.

But anyhoo, thanks again  ;D
