All these sun rising fotos, so glorious, remind me of what Wendell Berry wrote, "Every place on earth is either sacred or it is desecrated".

Richard, Arlen, Eric - thank you.

Richard - this part of Iceland is still remote, mostly uninhabited (harsh weather etc), and much of it is now part of a natural preserve. So - still sacred.

Francois, Paulo, Leszek, and Pieter - thank you, gentlemen.

Pieter - funny that you mention noise. When we returned to our accommodation early morning (around 3 am), we thought we had executed a quiet landing. At breakfast that morning we found out we had woken up all the other guests. Fortunately, everyone was a sport about it and had a good laugh.
