Nebraska Cattle Ranch

I wanted to capture the dry and brittle nature of this scene.  Comments welcomed.

Mark,
I think you've succeeded well.
And implied, to me, is the irony of the dead tree and the wooden post fence.

Well done! Might be nice in b/w too.

RMW, yeah, I agree with your comment on the dead tree.  I would not have taken this picture without it.

MattBurt, thanks for your comment.

David, I will follow your suggestion and see what it looks like in b/w.

I find this scene strangely appealing.

Yes, to the scene, but I also favor trying B/W (and boost the contrast a bit).

Very nice scene and the sense of dryness is spot-on. A B&W version would certainly be beautiful too.
Bravo.

Rajan, I also found this scene "strangely appealing."  I am usually not a literalist when I develop images.  Yet, in this one I tried to stay pretty close to what I saw.

Bob_B, David, and Francois: After your suggestions I tried a b/w and I did not like the way the sky looked.  I am not a fan of a whitish/grey background.  I think if a cloud was present it might work as a b/w.  At least, this is my feeling.

Paulo, thanks for your kind words.
