Pristine, calm and relaxing… I love it but have one thing that I'm not sure about and it's the tip of your canoe (bottom-right). I don't know whether it's a positive or a negative thing…
Anyway, well done!

I quite agree with Francois. The scene is appealing but compositionally the red tip of the canoe seems not to be in the best place, to my way of thinking.

I rather like it.
And the canoe doesn't bother me.

The problem with the canoe is that it looks like it is in the scene accidentally.

The canoe tells a story. Without it it just another photo.

Thank you Francois, Rajan, Eric, Mark, and Peter.

I'm grateful for all your points of view concerning the boat. And glad to stir up a valid discussion about content and composition.

I included the boat because its red shining deck was catching the low light so well, because I had a 15mm lens on, and because it was in an unexpected place from where I would've usually preferred.

One of the benefits to me, and that I appreciate immensely, is putting up a foto I'm puzzled about and getting comments that are instructive from photographers I admire.

Every comment you've all made I can agree with. Which means there's no absolute right or wrong as far as I'm concerned.

I'll just have to accept the uncertainty in photography. What else can I do?

Nice scene but I'd also prefer either more or less of the boat to show you either wanted to include it or not.

Matt.
Thanks for the good comment.
Still undecided about the boat. And if it stays more of it surely looks like the right way to go.
