Winter on Skye
« on: January 23, 2023, 07:49:07 pm »

I have shown many shots of this scene before in various conditions and from different times of the year, but still find myself going back to shoot it again and again. Because I know each time I am here, it is going to be different and that each shot I take of it, will probably become my favourite, until I take the next one of course - and so on and so on etc...

+1, and to add to that, the black frame adds to the drama.

With just enough snow to powder those peaks and the reflection, you managed to convey the winter spirit from Skye
It's a stunning shot, I really love it.
Bravo.

That's a stunner!

Absolutely! I can see why you didn't want to pass this one up, regardless of how many times you shot it before.

Thank you all so much  ;)

Very, very much appreciated.

Dave,
Masterful !

Richard

No, unfortunately not Richard, as I don't print my work anymore. In fact I even gave away my printer and expensive rag paper etc., about 2 years ago, as I just wasn't using regularly enough to make it worthwhile and so the nozzles kept blocking up whenever I did try to use it.

Would you like a print of it?

I would like a copy if Paypal is acceptable. I will pay mailing fees also.

Ideally i would like to print it myself but I understand why that is
dangerous. However, If you should send a printable copy, I will
erase  it as soon as my print is made. I will also place your name
and a copyright date on the print if you don't

Hi Dale,

Thank yo so much for liking my image so much, that you would like a copy of it hanging on your wall  :)

As for printing, I was thinking more along the lines of, if anyone on here does want a print of it, then all you need to do is select a reputable printing service in your country, that will ship the finished print to you directly and without it having to go through international control points and customs etc. Then pay the printer's for whatever size you choose to print it and on whatever medium you would like it printing onto, then ask them to send me a link to their server, so I can upload it to their printing service directly. This way they will only print you the one copy that you have paid them for and I don't have to worry that my work is going to accidentally end up all over the internet - it is not that I don't trust you Dale, I do, but we all have to try to keep as much control over our work as we can don't we?

And I am also willing to do this for absolutely no charge on my end (other than perhaps you could buy a copy of my book, that is if you haven't done so already). But if you did want it authenticated and my signature adding to it and numbering etc, then I could mail something to you directly, but I would have to ask that you pay for the mailing fees etc, but which shouldn't cost more than sending a small letter internationally at perhaps a couple of pounds sterling (GB) and say a couple of pounds for the envelope and sticky back paper that I sign and number for you etc.

Does this sound like a workable plan for you??

And if we do go through with it and we can make this thing work, then I do insist on you uploading a picture of it hanging on your wall, with you standing at the side of it  ;D

Thanks so much. I think I would like to have you send me a print since I live 1.5 hrs. from the nearest printer.
I expected that you would not choose to send me a copy since  my response to such a request would be the
same of yours (though no one has ever asked for a copy of one of my images).

Since you are a professional photographer, I insist on sending you $50 above the cost of printing and mailing
the image. Do you have paypal or another such service?

Of course I will provide you a picture of your print on my wall; I only need a mailing address.

Thank you,
Dale

ps: i would appreciate a signed print, if that is not an inconvenience.

Beautiful Dave,

I too came to the same idea of printing on demand...For all the same reasons as you. For prints of my paintings made on demand. Saves me a fortune and no  more overhead for inks and paper etc...

OK.

I am currently spending a few days in Braemar  (North East Scotland) and will be back home on Wednesday.

So what you need to do Dale, is to go to this picture printing service and choose how you want it printing Whitewall. I will then price up the cost of mailing the print to you in Rocky Mount, NC, USA, where you can then have it professionally mounted however you choose - I will of course sign it before mailing it out to you.

Yes I do have Paypal and thank you for saying I am a 'pro', even though I do not think of myself as such, but I suppose I do sell my work, have run workshops and also written a book, so I suppose that yes, I could been seen as such - so thank you once again  ;D

Of course I will provide you a picture of your print on my wall; I only need a mailing address.

No I just meant a picture uploaded onto this thread... ;)
