they do.
my eyes find this "busy" in the reflection with no area to focus except to snap up to the trees. 
maybe all reflection and no trees  - an abstract ?

Me too. The abstract bottom half is worth exploring, maybe you have that shot, but I also like the context of the tree bases.

As a fellow admirer of cypress refections in dark waters I like this foto. Perhaps more can be tried with composition? But it's pretty interesting to me the way it is.
