Image of Frida Kahlo
« on: December 21, 2022, 04:42:31 pm »

I came across this image by the photographer Nickolas Muray.  I fell in love with it and wanted to share it all of you.  The photograph's title is "Frida Kahlo in Red 'Rebozo,'" 1939.

Thanks, I love it! So rich. Any info on what gear and film was used?
I got my wife Frida's newly published diary for her recent birthday.

Edit: looks like Kodachrome or Carbro process.

That's a fine portrait of her.

Thanks all for your comments.  The art museum (I think it was called an art gallery) that showed this image (Auckland, NZ) did not provide any technical information.  It struck me that this photographer must be well versed in how the great portrait painters approach their subject.
