Poor custom camera profiles w/C1
« on: December 03, 2022, 08:41:27 am »

For a number of years, I have tried to create custom camera profiles for C1 using ColorChecker Passport. The process has been easy and successful with LR and makes a HUGE difference, especially when it comes to skin tones.

I have used C1 since the first years when it was the only alternative to Canon’s DPP back in the early 2000s. Though they have always touted their “great color”, I have never been really satisfied with C1’s color (especially skin tones) compared to LR and hence why I have strived to create my own camera profiles.

My most recent results were “OK”, but slightly weak, washed out and low contrast compared to the canned profiles C1 has for the Canon R5 and R.

Has anyone had success nailing those and if so, what was your method? I have watched several videos and ready a couple articles, and though the once’s I created a few days ago were better, I’ll still go back to LR for my latest job. Thanks.
