So my shop was just 'gifted' a Canon Pro 2100 printer. I did actually test the printer on site before we moved it and everything was fine. I think there was some damage in transit however as now it's flashing error code: EC31-2F1C.
I called the grand wizards of Canon and they had me go through a few check procedures. The problem has to do with the purge unit, they say. We cleaned around a sensor and checked for obvious signs..I can't see any. They quoted me $1000 even to send someone out which includes parts and labor. So either I get this puppy barking or I'm stuck with a large brick on a stand.
I'm somewhat curious about the DIY route as I'm used to fixing our other machines. Would anyone happen to have the service manual for the Pro-2100, or just the part # of the purge unit?
Prints are unfortunately not a huge money maker in our operation so it's hard to justify spending a grand on this...but I may have to.
