Do any Hasselbad H backs have an ES?
« on: October 10, 2022, 11:06:38 pm »

I am wondering if any of the CMOS backs for the H4/5/6 have an electronic shutter and can be used on a tech cam without too much fuss?

Thinking of simplifying my setup and hoping to find a back which can go on my tech cam, and do away (or rather ignore) my copal mounted shutter

I am not aware of any H back that has electronic shutter, but each user manual is readily available. They all can be used on tech cameras. You just need to sync to the shutter and provide power by tethering.

Phase One backs are a very good option for a tech camera. Lots of features specific to or especially helpful for this kind of work.

Here's an article I wrote on ES for Phase One backs: https://dtcommercialphoto.com/phase-ones-electronic-shutter-in-detail/

The 907X 50C provides sensor electronic shutter. It's a very versatile camera. It functions as a connection point for the X-system, H-system, and V-system.

The 907X has a line of native XCD lenses, there are two adapters for H mount lenses (a standard adapter and the 0.8x adapter which functions to make the H lenses wider and faster) with full leaf shutter capability and autofocus with H lenses from about 2013 and later, and other lens adapters that work with the sensor electronic shutter. The HTS 1.5 Tilt/Shift Adapter is also compatible with either of the H mount lens adapters.

The CFV II 50C back can be used on Hasselblad V-system cameras going back to the 1950s and on a view or tech camera with a Hasselblad V mount.

Here's an interesting combination for Tilt and Shift...
