« on: September 18, 2022, 05:18:45 am »

Hi i have z3200 for long time
i notice banding starts from the middle of the photo for 3cm then gone then return bigger then gone then return for the end of the print
i printed the test image from menu with no banding
so i create a test image with one site has a photo and other sides i put bands of different colors
i noticed when banding starts it only occurs in grey strip
i changed the printhead same problem

First things I would do are, shake the ink cart .  If it’s very low replace it.

Do a head alignment on the paper you are using.

Do a paper advance calibration on that paper.

Relinearize the paper ( hp calls it calibration).

Make sure you are printing at unidirectional , highest quality,

Print out rectangles of gray after doing all this to see if it’s still there and not image dependent.

i would suggest to print some more to put some ink through the heads.  ( and once a week) ..
if it does not go away do a diagnostic print and clean the dirty heads through the menu...
If that does not help do a manual clean ( be careful)
repeat.  Something like that.

do you mean you changed the ink cartridge for a new one and printed so much that the ink in the printhead was replaced by new ink?

wow! Never done that before!  well done! Sounds like a very delicate difficult operation.
I once opened a printhead to discover how complicated it looked and think i could not get it back together again.

I guess the same result could be by buying new ink- print some LG to drain the tubes and then buy a new print head...
