Epson 3880 and Mac OSX 12.5.1 Monterey - Are there problems?

I am having trouble getting my 3880 working with Monterey.  Instead of updating my main computer which is on Big Sur (11.6.1)  to Monterey  I installed Monterey (v12.5.1) on an external SSD.  Booting up with the external drive the 3880 driver was not visible so I installed the latest version from the Epson website which is Driver 10.85 (and says that it is compatible with Monterey).  However I cannot print from it - I print from Lightroom which recognises the printer, sends the file to the computer, the 3880 proxy says that there is incoming and then just hangs and nothing happens.  It just doesn't work.

Weirdly re-booting the computer in Big Sur I noticed that the 3880 driver was no longer available.  I cannot imagine how that it was deleted but with some difficulty I managed to reinstall it on Big Sur and that works fine.  But I still can't print to it via Monterey.

Also weirdly, I have P5000 connected via Ethernet - on both Big Sur and Monterey the printer was visible and works fine from both operating systems without having to have reinstall on Monterey.

Anyone got any experiences with Monterey and the 3880?  I would like to update my main computer to Monterey but if I can't print to the 3880 with it, that is less attractive.

Any thoughts or experiences?

My 3880 prints just fine, without any issues in 12.5.1.

Just to be clear - are you using Driver 10.85?  That, as far as I can see, seems to be me the most recent version.  Mine is still hanging in limbo.  Fortunately Epson telephone support for large format printers (including the 3880) is pretty good. So I guess I'll go back to them.
