photoshop - how to reduce the amount of ICC-profiles?
« on: August 03, 2022, 08:10:50 am »

I always print from Phtotshop and that works very well.
One annoying thing is the enormous large list of ICC-profiles that you can choose from ...
Many profiles are even not related to printing ....

Is there anyway to reduce that?

Sure; delete them from your system. Or Zip them so they don't show up.
Not sure what OS you're on but if you can locate the actual ICC profiles and trash them, then they will not show up.
And then there is the joy of printing from Lightroom Classic but that's another discussion.  :D

Sure, and i will do that...but was looking for a more elegant solution inside photoshop
those ICC profiles are all over the place ( mojave) .

Have not printed from LR classic yet; but my workflow always ends with large PSB files in Photoshop. and printing itself goes fine in Photoshop.
I am using LR without the catalogue function- only as a raw converter.

None exists in PS.
One exists in LR.
No idea how anyone can use LR without the catalog. 🤔

The catalog came 15 years after i had my own system in place.
a combination of Filemaker - Neofinder ( archive) and i used mediapro for culling ( now went over to Fastraw-viewer)
it works also for my analog photos. Any photo i have made I can find within a few minutes.
Cannot imagine to move around all photos in LR...too restrictive; this means i cannot use the finder the way i like it.
Like to mess and move around with my photos.

This still makes no sense but that's fine:

Sure, use a Print Programme.
I have not printed using anything else since I discovered they exist.
Once you set them up you just select the paper and the size and everything is done for you.
I use Mirage Print but there are lots of them.
