P7000 vs P7000V

I urgently need a P7000 or very similar, there is no UK stock of this item but there are some of the violet versions. I print mostly graphic designs on canvas, not photos, will the violet version be OK? I read it was a proofing printer.

The Commercial Edition (violet edition) is the exact same printer, except the initial inkset has Violet, instead of LLk.

You could buy it and just not put in the violet; buy a separate LLk cart, and put that in, instead.

That's interesting - so I'd basically buy the P7000V but with a LLK cartridge and then install the driver for a P7000? So the printer doesn't actually know what version of itself it is?

Actually hard to believe for me. Why does Epson sell these as different modells at all? 
What about color calibration?

The Printer KNOWS based on which of those two carts are used to initialize the machine; initialize with LLK, the printers becomes the regular version, initialize with Violet, it becomes the commercial edition.

Not too much unlike the old Epson 9600 Ultrachrome. You had to CHOOSE Matte Black/or Photo Black at the initial initialization stage.

(course on that one you could do a routine to 'switch over' but not in 'this' case (there's a lot of pigment in the violet) and the firmware does not allow for it.
