My Epson P5000 had been sitting for a couple of days and when I walked into the room it was in the display was showing Error 1138. The display suggested turning the printer off and on and if that didn’t fix the problem, contact service. It didn’t and I have but a Google search suggests the problem is with a cable or sensor. When I turn on the printer, part way into the startup process there is a clunk as if the head is jammed or maybe out of position. On my Epson 4800 I used to be able to release the head and move it off the capping station but I don’t know how to do that with this printer. Does anyone have a suggestion on things I could try to get it going while I’m waiting to hear back from Epson? Thanks.
