What is the significance of the flag on top for some of them ?

Both Hindu and Buddhist traditions display the flag. It symbolizes auspicious/positive energy, the triumph of Dharma over the forces of Darkness; sometimes it may carry the insignia of a particular deity.

The first photo is really striking and immediately pulled me into looking in more depth. Lovely!

Lovely pair, Rajan.  Nice colors with the monsoon in the background - when they get clean and more saturated.  Your depictions of colors of Goa make me think they are landscape equivalent of Raghubir Singh's street photography.

Bob, Niranjan, Francois, and Paulo - thank you.

Niranjan - these were mostly taken during the monsoon season when, as you rightly observed, the colours emerge nicely. I often seek similar conditions in Iceland (overcast after a wet spell).
