Purple Gallinule

Very colorful waterfowl who are generally found traipsing across the lily pads, their oversized feet keeping them from sinking.

Busy but the vibrant colors of this gallinule grab all the attention of the viewer.

What a nice shot, well done!

Because of the brightness of their coloration, Gallinules, both the purple variety and the common tend to stay in "busy" areas easy for them to access but hard for Eagles or other prey like alligators to get them.
