Out of the Rocks
« on: May 28, 2022, 02:40:25 pm »

I've had a hiking partner back out of a planned Pakistan Karakoram trip in late July and need a hiking partner for about 20 days in the Himalayas. The trip costs about $4,800 plus airfare and is fully supported with sherpa, guide, porter, cooks, etc. It would just be me and whom ever can swing it (if anyone). Please message me if you're interested.

This is an old shot from Iceland that I've never liked much because of the flatness of dimension. I think the four layers also challenge the tension and overall it lacks a clear focal point, so my eye has always wandered looking at it. That being said, I finally settled on the complexity of the scene making it somewhat fun for my eye to wander around it, losing clear focus, the minute details like the bluer water mixing with the gray glacial till water, the autumn colors, and the last golden hour light hitting the clouds lighting the scene made me decide ultimately that the pros outweighed the cons... but I can share with you that this place was particularly challenging to shoot, with all the elements, and that on a less windy day I would have been much better off as I could have included more foreground elements to give the dimension this is missing.

If I were fifty years younger, I would love to join you in the Himalayas.

Have great trip and show us some photos when you get back.

Sometimes it is good not to have a dominant element. In this case, the entire landscape is the main subject.
