Fantastic, Paulo. I'll never forget doing this in Napa Valley for the first time. Nervous, all that went away when I finally realized we were off the ground!

Beautiful account of your adventure.

I would love to do that some time. I have been present at balloon launches, but haven't (yet) had a ride in one.

Did you get to do the first-timer ritual afterward?  ;D

Nice photos!
Balloons are fun and maybe a little terrifying how they seem so non-directional. I've done a couple of rides around here and they were great photo opportunities. My dog Luna sure hates it when they are around. Fire breathing dragons descending from the sky!

Thanks. We had a glass of nice bubbly champagne after landing.

When I took my first ride they said the same thing but we had to get on our knees and pick the cups up with our mouths and then chug the cheap bubbly without using hands. While the whole group does this any "virgins" get doused with champagne while they are all bent over. I wonder how widespread this is. Maybe just the American version.

In my flight, all the passengers were first timers.
