Nice and sharp! I had some haze and clouds here but still gave it a good effort.

Did you catch three planets as well ?
One looks like Mars. Maybe Jupiter and Saturn ?

Well done. Here in Portugal there was a nice cloud cover...

Thanks, gentlemen!
Matt, not crystal clear detail, but hey(!), 25,600 ISO! Masks are wonderful things as it was a little hazy here too ;)
Eric, as always, thank you.
degrub, I'm not sure, but wondered about it as the Moon was in that region of sky. This was ESE and Saturn would have been much further South OOF. But wait! I see Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in the early morning local time here. This was about 830 pm so I should be looking in the opposite direction across the solar system, right?
Paulo, thanks. If a friend had not asked me to take a look because of cloud cover in South Carolina, I'd have never known there were to be portents in the heavens! ;)

Very niceā€¦ I was too lazy to get out and there's too much light pollution, unfortunately.
When I see your photo (and those from Matt), I'm fully satisfied and happy!

World Afire
From the same evening obviously. Light clouds moving past. 2500 ISO, 0.6 sec, f/5.6, same kit. Just a few minutes before maximum total eclipse.

That is a great stand-alone image.
If it were mine, I'd hang a large print on my wall.

I think I prefer your second "World Afire" shot. I like the mystery of it. The first shot is really good and captures the scene perfectly, but it is the second one for me  :)

It Begins
You can actually see the beginning of the Earth's shadow in the lower left hand quadrant. This coincides with the expected time frame of the eclipse.
A different mood altogether.

Thank you, Eric, Francois. It came in a moment of clarity as the clouds parted ;) The surrounding clouds, lit by the Moon's light do not show up well on the white background of the page. Too subtle.
The end of a nice little project.
