Looking for premium solvent canvas
« on: May 07, 2022, 02:17:27 pm »

Many years of experience with pigment canvas but none with solvent. Looking for a premium solvent canvas for artist reproductions and hospitality wall art. We were sent a roll of Bianco Satin but just did not like the look and feel.
Was just too thin, plasticky and 65% poly and 35% cotton. Quality is way more important then price. Has to be durable for stretching with no cracking at the corners. We will have to do testing but would love some suggestions.

Try Breathing Color, they have several solvent canvas in different grades.

I personally have used Urth, Metallic and Gesture. As I know, former Epson branded solvent canvas was made by Breathing Color (precisely, their mother company).

Thank you. Was looking at there 65% cotton/35% poly brands of which they have at least 4.

Wow! First you wanted the S80 and now you want Canvas (to use with the S80). Will it ever end?!  Next, you'll be wanting a Coating too.... Oh wait, You won't be
needing the Coating <slow wink>

You're gonna have a LOT of Fun, my Friend.

Check Fredrix--  they're a true manufacturer and have an incredible variety of canvases.  Some basic ones are sold by lexjet and are quite nice, but they make kind of everything under the sun (metallic gold, glossy, uncoated) They were super nice when I spoke with them at SGIA a few years back too.

Been doing this for awhile so I know the drill. :) Lexjet is printing a half dozen color charts on a half dozen different canvases with the S80 which will save me a ton of time.  I ordered a sample roll of Breathing Color Urth 65cotton/35poly. looks like a superior product except that it is almost 50% more than some of the others. Hopefully some Fedrix samples will be in the box.

Hey Dan, how's it going? I'll second the vote for Fredrix. The source.
