My entry in the vintage camera sweepstakes: a 1937 Zeiss Contax II rangefinder, expertly refurbished and recently acquired but otherwise an identical twin of my father's 35mm camera, which he let me use as a teenager.


I've enjoyed shooting with it recently: it's a nostalgic experience—quite different, needless to say, than using a modern digital camera.  Some sample snaps here, here, and here.

My dad had quite the collection too..Stuff from back in that world where big box...meant tripod mounted behemoth.

My elder brother once showed me a five ft "square" cube box of cameras he "inherited" from my Dad. There were some real prizes in that box.

I have a few old folders and one is a Kodak similar to that but with no bulb. It takes an oddball film size but you can shim a 120 roll and make it work.
