Suggestions for matt papers
« on: February 13, 2022, 08:46:21 pm »

I print on an HP Z3200 printer. I am looking for a matte paper with the following charactreistics: smooth finish, great Dmax and wide color gamut. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

Have a look at the new Canson Baryta Photograpique Mark 2, rather stiff, absolutely smooth, great d-max.

have you used it in a Z3200? wondering about problems loading into the machine

I can't speak to the HP Z3200, but using an Epson 3880 my favorite paper with the properties you describe is Epson Hot Press Natural; and occasionally Hot Press Bright when the image calls for a slightly whiter paper.

Bit of a fan of Canson Rag Photographique. Use it often in a Canon 8400, which has a rather tortuous print path.*
Got some Canson 88 coming shortly, hoping it travels the same.

*print path has some really nasty angles for spring tension paper - kind of like a lowercase "a", with a couple of bumps and lips on the way out.
