Carbon fibre is so yesterday…  ;D There's speed in this shot!!!
Well seen.

More seriously, I wonder how long the bond between the bamboo tubing and lugs might last.

Edit: typo.

They have gained some popularity…
I don't want to hijack Michael's thread but for you Eric, here's another one of these ecological bicycles…

I'll bet the tires and pedals aren't bamboo.   ;)

Chain and gears are pure metal also, so it's not a bicycle made out of wood only.

At least, Michael's bamboo bicycle is rideable and the owner seems to enjoy it!

Very impressive.

We have the Marin Bicycling Museum a short four minute walk from here.

The variety of bikes seen hereabouts staggers the imagination..

Marin County is fairy upscale and being across the bridge from the San Francisco riders..an  ever more upscale bunch of riders,  ive seen bikes exceeding 15K gliding by on the weekend.

Ive seen the bamboo bike type the rider was pedaling in person..basically kust to photograph it.  its truly a work of beauty...  RIDING and Maintaining one on the other hamd  I will leave to the far more well heeled adventurous types
