Stormy sunset, Cape Schanck, Australia
« on: December 22, 2021, 10:07:54 pm »

A ray of sunlight illuminates Pulpit Rock during a stormy sunset off Cape Schanck, Victoria, Australia.

Not sure how well this one turned out, or if it would be better off in black-and-white - the direct, side-on illumination on the subject during otherwise cloudy weather seems dramatic, but, at the same time, almost jarring and unnatural.

Sony A7r3 with Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM and Nisi 6-stop ND filter. 26mm, f/9, 6s, ISO 50.

I like this but I think it might be even better in mono. Worth a try for sure! Cool shot!

Almost unnatural indeed, but sometimes you have that. A bit too much...
Great volcanic neck! Icelandic...

I like it just as it is, too.
