 if that gate hadnt been captured in that condition, I could have been tempted to use photoshop® to "correct" that "problem"...

I would be happy to try either with Photoshop or with the tools of the trade. However, I'm fairly certain that the results would be terrible… If you know the right people we could try to sell the gate as Gate III (ref. Rhein III)!
