Strange holes in gamut while creating profiles for iPF 6400 using i1 Pro

I got a used Canon iPF 6400, changed a head and calibrated it. I also got a i1 Pro (first model) for creating papers profiles. I dont have much experience using it but it gaves good profiles for a few papers on my 3880. However for the 6400 I get strange gamut shapes with "holes" in it. The pictutes of it, given by the i1Profiler software are attached below.

The paper is Moab Entrada Natural. The software is i1Profiler 3.1.1 (it is the highest release number that support i1 Pro 1). 2200 patches were used and other setting are set to default.

What are these holes the symptom of ? Reading errors ? Printer failure ? Calibration device failure ? I find these holes very sharp for being due to the printer.

I am stuck and any explanation or suggestion is welcome.

Thanks for you rapid answer ! I am going to remeasure using another computer and another USB cable. If the problem is still there I can suppose the i1 Pro is out of order ? Because I cannot eliminate these holes even when smoothing by creating a small profile. And I can see some strange colors when softproofing.

It's likely your timing of reading the patches.
Click and hold measure button before starting to read 2,3,
slowly and smoothly measure across 456789 10
Hold button 11 12 and release.
Atleast that is what my RevD likes.

Reading error, wat size of patches?
For i1Pro it is best to use 8.5x8.5mm

I use the default 9x10 mm patch size proposed by the software for i1Pro. I also checked patch randomisation as it is said that it improves reliability. Do you think that moving to 8.5x8.5 would improve over 9x10 ?

I try to do my best to be as smooth as I can but over 110 lines I get errors on about 10 to 15 of them and have to rescan them several times until I find the best speed so that it is accepted.

It was due to the USB connection. I changed the USB port of the i1Pro and I now get smooth gamut displays.
Some checks are probably missing in i1 software to detect this kind of big inconsistencies.
