When we lived in Manitou Springs, Eric, I used to go up to Vindicator Valley (q.v.), walk the trail, and shoot pictures of the abandoned mines. When lunch time came I'd always drive into Cripple Creek and have lunch at Maggie's. I loved the place. Still do, though I can't have lunch there any longer. Maggie's was in a building I'd shot some pictures of many years before. In those days it was close to collapse. Gambling came to town. The building was repaired and refurbished and became a gambling joint with a quite fine restaurant. I hated what gambling did to Cripple Creek, but I loved Maggie's.
