Bird is a fantail, and the lizard is a common skink (both native to New Zealand).

The lizard got comfortable enough for me to stroke its head at one point, and get the camera very close. Pretty bizarre, as most of them scurry away at the faintest sight of a human.

I like both the the bird is my favorite. It's probably because the backlit scene is a bit unusual.
