So this is a portion of a spherical panorama that was projected onto a equilateral plane causing the distortion effect.. those branches are really hanging almost over the camera in some cases

Since the whole image has this super natural look,  the distortion just adds up to it- i like it!
Is this a IR -d800 or only a filter?

so this is a modified D800 that replaces the UVIR cut filter with borosilicate glass which passes UV-VIS-IR or "all pass". I used an RG850 filter over the lens to select IR greater than 850nm wavelength.
