I'll certainly keep that in mind the next time I shoot a baby for a Nirvana album.   

Most of my trees and rocks refuse to offer model releases.
Maybe that's why none of them appear on album covers.

This so-called person suing Nirvana seems to be a real low-class money grubber. I haven't the slightest sympathy for him, and I hope the court makes him pay legal expenses.

Eric, be careful if you shoot in California, some of the rocks have rights and you may be sued....:~p

Yeah, I actually went to school with Weddle as we called him (crazy fellow, lots of fun).
I am not a lawyer but I don't think he has much to worry about.

Years back there was a fine art photographer in NYC that did a series of pictures in Europe that then was turned into a gallery show.  He never got model releases, but did not really think it was a big deal since all of these people lived in Europe.  How would they find out.  On the day of the opening, the person in the image being used to market the show was in town on vacation. 

He sued both the photographer and the gallery owner. 

Get model releases.
