Thanks Vieri,
I definitely learned a few new things about the details of the various holders.
I have to agree that I am liking the screw-in type polarizers less and less.
The magnetic option looks very attractive...
Any specific comment on the Kase thin 1.5mm filters? The reduction in weight of the glass filters is attractive to me for longer hikes in the mountains.
You are very welcome, glad you found the article useful. Yes, it's great to see so many options, and such creativity in developing new and better ways to use filters. The most innovative holder is definitely H&Y, for me, followed by Kase with their magnetic polariser. Both are worth checking out. I have no experience with the Kase 1.1 mm filters, sadly, so I cannot say either way. I am not sure how much weight you will save though, probably very little - even though, as we know, when hiking long distances every gr counts.
Best regards,
Vieri
