Eratic mouse behavior in Bridge

when using bridge, and attempting to scroll using a magic mouse, or using the scroll bar, the response to scroll is so rapidly I cannot control it.  This only occurs With Bridge and no other App. 

how can I return the mouse control to normal?
I am using a MAC
