A quick note on Nikon’s new retro Zfc
« on: August 05, 2021, 02:42:27 am »

Hi all,

Just wanted to share this with fellow ‘older’ pro shooters on here..
We have our fair share of large and expensive pro kit to enable us to do our jobs, MF, DSLR’s, FF mirrorless plus all those lights and grip. But what do we use at the weekends..? Our smartphones normally.

So for the first time in my life I prefer ordered this camera with the 28mm (42mm) retro kit lens.

I love it for the following reasons:

It reminds me of my early days when we snapped for fun.
It’s small and light and retro.
Technically it’s amazing, great focus, super sharp, super image quality and super colours.
You can set the lens to change aperture when you rotate it…! How old school is that..?
Using SnapBridge it’s so easy to send a file to your phone, it’s rock solid and works seamlessly.

But I will confess, as a guy in his 50’s it’s a cool capable camera to take out after work, just for fun, to try funny, silly techniques again.
Photography with not clients opinions, not shot list, no products to include….

Just fun again.

I’m glad I broke my rule and pre-ordered it…
