Advice needed.. HR32 from rollei to copal 0
« on: July 30, 2021, 06:16:17 pm »

Hi, I’m a beginner and I’m looking for the correct advice.
I bought a 32HR in electronic shutter and needs to be changed to copal-0. Can this only be done in the factory?

Our contact and agreement went really fast and I forgot to be critical. The seller gave me 350 euro discount when I arrange my own copal. But after a lot of research I’m a bit worried now.

Spoke with the Rodenstock technician few years ago. Each Digaron is individually matched at the factory to the Copal shutter (spacers?). Needless to say $$$.

May be necessary or may not be!

You would need to source a copal 0 shutter.  If you have the shutter, then Rodenstock can mount it.  You would have to contact them directly, which is not that easy to do.  You might need to work with a dealer as they will have a better way to reach Rodenstock.  Currently Rodenstock only sells this lens in the aperture mount now,  which requires a back with an e shutter to use.

You might find a lens repair shop near you that could mount the shutter.

SK Grimes may be able to do this for you if you find a low cost lens with a good shutter.

They do good work.

My recollection of the conversation with the Rodenstock technician is that each lens is individually calibrated on an optical bench (using different sized spacers?). Whether true or not don't know.

Just mounting a Copal shutter is easy.
