Two long exposures on the coasts of Brittany, France
« on: July 19, 2021, 06:57:59 am »

I love the surreal feeling created by the use of long exposures in the landscape, as well as the compositional power they provide in terms of the ability to create leading lines out of nowhere. Here two images from the coasts of Brittany, in France, a destination I really love and I can't wait to go back to in early November!

Excellent ways to use long exposures… Even without the long exposure, those photos would be spectacular.
Well done, Vieri.

Thank you very much Eric, happy you liked them! :)

Of course hand-held, that's the only way to do it! :D :D

Thank you very much Kers, I am happy you enjoyed them and #1 in particular! :) That's a truly incredible location, with those leading lines!

Thank you very much indeed Francois, glad you enjoyed them! :) Here's a version with not-so-long exposure (slightly different time of day, of course):

I agree with your comment, Eric. My feelings are that the not-so-long exposure versions are not as relaxing as the long exposure ones. There's more "confusion" in the sky. Well, that's just me!

Thanks Vieri for providing us with the other versions…

Hello Francois,

thank you for your comment, glad you enjoyed the "simplicity" of the long-exposures better, means a lot to me. Simplifying the composition, besides mood, is one of the main reasons for me to use LE in the first place, and I am happy it worked well for you.

Best regards,
