Devil's Tower - A Different Perspective
« on: July 15, 2021, 01:10:58 pm »

I just got home yesterday from a cross country motorcycle trip.  Stacked up over 2500 miles and had a lot of fun, got to see lots of stuff and a lot of relatives as well.

My first stop was Devil's Tower, Wyoming.  About 370 miles from home and a great place to camp.

That night, I rode up a dirt road to the back of Devils Tower and hiked up a little hill.

Here's what I took a little after midnight on a moonless night.  This little image doesn't do it justice.  Looks quite a lot nicer on my large calibrated editing monitor at full size!

Hope you like it.

Love it! My kind of shot. Both being a wide astro shot and a non-typical view of a place everyone knows. Nice work.

+1

The graphic 'foreground' makes it a non-typical Milky Way photo.

Combining astro and landscape works perfectly and the result is spectacular. Also, the monument seems more magical than under a "normal" light.
Bravo!

+1 to all the previous comments.

Truly spectacular. This would look great in a 4'x8' print.
