If I remember correctly with my ipf6400, it was not complicated to install a third party paper profile downloaded from the paper manufacturer using Media Configuration Tool. In this case, it is Ilford Gallerie Gold Mono Silk. I download the paper profile. Under Windows, I right click, choose 'Install Profile'. Windows does not provide any confirmation but I assume it's been installed. Am I wrong here? I guess, it simply copies the icc file to the folder where Windows stores all profiles.
However, that does not seem to do anything. The profile does not show up anywhere (neither in the Printer's dialogue nor in the Photoshop's print dialogue). On the other hand, the Media Configuration Tool does not offer any mean to install a third party profile by browsing on the hard drive to the location where the profile is saved. Currently, under the most recent version of MCT that I have downloaded from Canon, only a certain list of papers are available from which one can choose to add or update the media information. They are mostly already install and I think they are all Canon.That's about it.
By the way, in 'Media Configuration Tool Add Paper', the option of adding a 'media information file' is provided. However, that is must be a file with 'am1x' extension. There is no option to add an icc file.
So I must be missing something. Can somebody guide me or, is there a site with a tutorial for adding a third party paper?
