I remembered being fascinated by these flowers when I lived back East. Love the color dynamics, Bob. I do lean, however, towards deeper DOF, not razor sharp, but a little deeper. The transition in blur seems abrupt in the center; creative focus stacking? Aesthetic choice, Bob, of course. I think it is entirely a propos of the soon to be released UAP report 8) <--- Men in Black! ;)

Thanks David. The blur is partly due to an open aperture and some post-processing, with a goal of a shallow DOF, but don't fret: I haven't lost my focus rail or stacking software, and they will be used once again in future posts.  ;)

Beautiful color palette on top of a a great composition. The out of focus parts/areas don't bother me at all as the "center" of the flower is a very strong element.
Well done.

I like it Bob. I recently have purchased the newest and fastest lenses for my new Canon R5 and I have been experimenting with pushing DOF to it’s limits. For me the DOF on this image is spot on for the composition. One thing bothering me though is on the left were the green background meets the petals. I would like to see that much smoother.

Thanks sruddy. Yes, I worked quite a long time trying to tame that transition.
