Eizo monitor sensor stuck

Has anyone else had this problem with any of the Eizo monitors ? I have the CG277 and thee sensor is stuck in the up position. Seems silly that what appears like a 5 dollar part can brick a fairly expensive monitor.

Turn it off at the wall and leave it for half an hour. Then give it another go - this often works for ones that get stuck....it's not a mechanical failure, just some confusion from the unit about the state of the sensor extension (I believe).
